One day I'll show up in leather pants with a grungy oversized shirt and go on and on about modern design while taking a long island to the head. The next day I'll be sipping on wine in a feminine lace dress paired with brightly colored heels talking about the shortage of trees and beautiful art. And somewhere in between all that is a lot of sarcasm. This blog embodies my DirtyLace personality. Filled with personal thoughts, ideas, and inspirations that are drawn from fashion, art and design. DIY HOLIDAY SWAG SERIES PART 3 : Rhinestone drop headband
Part 1 of the series was inspired by pinecones, and Part 2 by velvet red bows used for Christmas decorating.
For Part 3, I was really crunching for time. Between all the holiday shopping, prepping and decorating, our final DIY had to be quick but still stylish. And quite honestly I could not get Chanel’s “Paris-Bombay” themed Pre-Fall 2012 collection (which was amazing) out of my mind.
All you need for this DIY is a rhinestoned headband and some bling bling. I tend to somehow always lose one of the pair of earrings, so I had a ton of lonely earrings with missing partners lying around. So now I’ve put them to good use.
This dangling earring was perfect. It had the big rhinestones and the chains already hanging from it, so all I did was twist the metal hook around the headband so that it was fastened. Then clipped the back of the earrings with pliers and added them on to the headband. And done !
T-Minus 3 days until Christmas ! Which DIY are you rocking?
